Build the activity into the “recoverable half-day” in Vík
If you stay in Vík the night before, I would place the activity on the day when you still have daylight after arrival but do not need to cross the region again. You can approach from the west in the morning, stop at Skógafoss or another free viewpoint, then eat and reach the meeting point after arriving in Vík. If the flight waits for wind, the village still gives you alternatives. Put it on a long transfer day to Jökulsárlón and every extra half-hour takes from tonight’s check-in and tomorrow morning’s road.

Check these details before you pay
- Does the confirmation name Víkurbraut 5, Víkurbraut 15, or another same-day meeting address, and how much distance is there between it and your previous stop?
- Do every participant’s age, weight, health and ability to run fit the selected product? A double ticket does not make an unsuitable participant eligible.
- Is the time a fixed departure or only a broad morning, afternoon or evening window? Can you leave two hours around it?
- If the wind stops the flight, is the arrangement a refund, a new date, waiting time or a plan you must rebuild yourself?

Which day of a South Coast itinerary suits paragliding best?
The safest fit is a Vík stay with an adjustable half-day before and after. Driving from Reykjavík on the same day, or having to force a drive to Jökulsárlón after the flight, means one wait can affect both the hotel and the next stop.
Can I join without any paragliding experience?
Usually experience is not required, but passengers must be able to run briefly on a slope as instructed and meet the selected product’s age, weight and health limits. Pregnant travellers, recently injured people and anyone unable to run should not rely on the words “tandem” or “double” when booking.
Will the flight definitely launch if the forecast says it is windy?
