The pool, campsite, and lodging all share one trait: they require advance verification, not just an assumption that they "should be there." Þórshöfn's location is ideal for ending the car day early if coastal weather turns, but only if you already know where you're sleeping, how you'll eat, and if you can drive again tomorrow. Camping specifically requires attention to wind and ground conditions; don't interpret "there is a campsite" as "it's suitable to sleep outside in any season."
Langanes needs a weather margin, not a checklist
Sauðaneshús is the easier cultural and coastal stop. Stórikarl and Skoruvíkurbjarg pull you farther towards exposed cliffs, where visibility, wind and walking distance decide how much of the day remains. They do not belong in a tight schedule between a late check-in and an early departure.

The Arctic Coast Way is not a list of points to complete. Follow the wind and your energy, finish the section you can actually enjoy, then put the next bed somewhere that leaves a practical route. Þórshöfn or Raufarhöfn: Which is better for lodging?

Can I do Sauðaneshús and Skoruvíkurbjarg in the same day?
